Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) sector wide survey for services and providers
Australian Governments have committed to improving the safety, health and wellbeing of children in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC). Education Ministers agreed to undertake a national CCTV Assessment in up to 300 services (the Assessment). KPMG has been selected as the independent evaluator to conduct the evaluation component of the Assessment. Together, the Assessment and the independent evaluation will provide advice to Ministers on:
- how the safe and effective use of CCTV can be utilised as an appropriate and effective tool in maximising child safety, and
- broader policy decisions regarding the use of CCTV in ECEC services, including producing clear findings and recommendations for nationally consistent best practice principles.
Purpose of the Survey
This survey seeks to understand the views of ECEC services and providers who are not participating in the Assessment, including services and providers both with and without CCTV systems in place.
The survey aims to gather perspectives on:
- the appropriateness of CCTV as a tool to support child safety in ECEC services;
- the effectiveness of CCTV in ECEC services;
- the enablers and barriers to utilise CCTV in ECEC services.
Your responses will contribute to a broader understanding of sector perspectives and will help inform advice provided to Education Ministers about the potential role of CCTV in ECEC services.
This survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
Who can participate
A representative of any ECEC service or provider that is not participating in the Assessment is welcome to participate in this survey. This includes but is not limited to educators, kindergarten teachers, Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) leaders, centre managers and area managers.
Responses will remain anonymous. The data will be de-identified and only analysed at the aggregate level to identify general themes.
Participation is voluntary and you can opt out at any time. As responses are anonymous, you will be unable to withdraw your response once submitted.
